Within the new Ofsted framework achievement, teaching and learning, and literacy are expected to inform every aspect of school practice. Are you confident you know how to manage literacy across the curriculum?

At a glance

This course is a must if you want to get to grips with the most current research on literacy so you can develop strategies that work across the curriculum. It will equip you with the skills and strategies to address key literacy requirement that differentiate between poor and extraordinary practice.

You will be facilitated in unpacking what literacy is and isn’t. You will be supported in reviewing your own practice, including monitoring and review processes that enable teachers to co-design and plan collectively to ensure that provision is coherent.

What’s covered?

Learning is highly interactive, using transferable processes, tools and models that you can apply in the classroom immediately. You will:

1. Review your practice with reference to literacy across the curriculum

2. Identify blockers and wicked issues that cause patchy coverage

3. Use co-planning and joint assessment approaches to enhance literacy

4. Design a strategy that enriches literacy across the curriculum
